Too many things, yet too little time! I feel so guilty for not spending more time with my supervisees .. so this mini online gathering was hoped to provide them with joy and spirit to get going with their research activities. Three PhD students presented their proposals - Khuraisah, Azlin, and Syaida. We discussed a lot of things regarding the proposals, methodology, and the 'plot' for thesis writing. It is just like writing a novel. You need to plan the plot of your thesis chapters. In other words, you need to be able to foresee what would be your main findings, and thus, your main contribution to the body of knowledge, specifically related to your field.
Remember the word 'alignment'. Make sure you sail your research journey based on your 'oath' . What oath? I know some of you will be asking such a question. Yes. I mean it. The research problem statement is your oath. Why do I say so? Because whenever you highlight the problem, researchers will then explain what will be done through their study to solve the problem. You then propose the anticipated outcome from your study as well, don't you? So that is basically your 'oath'. You have to commit to whatever promise you make in your research problem/statement. All the best and keep the momentum up!
