 Sebenarnya perancangan untuk bengkel ini sudah agak lama dibincangkan namun kerana kekangan masa seta komitmen yang lain, agenda ini terpaksa dibawa ke hari ini. Thanks Dr Azrina, from the Faculty of Economics and Management, for this invitation :) They are team members of a research funded by the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development who conducted a research on women workers' involvement in STEM projects. My role today was to help out with the analysis of their qualitative data (mainly interviews), and to do this, we used NVivo. I carefully designed the workshop not to be too lengthy but instead I focused more on what should be done to analyze their current data. We had an in-depth discussion on the coding and the considerations in selecting the codes/keywords. I also shared they ways to present the data analysis including meta matrices and causal network. Together with the research group members who joined the workshop were FEP's students. I admired their persistence and commitment to learn a different perspective of looking at things and how to make it meaningful - away from numbers!   Alhamdulillah seorang lagi pelajar saya telah lulus ujian viva! Kali ini calon bagi program Doktor Pendidikan Tinggi, Pn Marini yang menjalankan kajian bertajuk Pembangunan dan Penilaian Modul VJava bagi Kursus Asas Pengaturcaraan Komputer untuk Pendidikan Tinggi. Pembaca luar adalah PM Dr Zaleha Abdullan (Dr Zac) dari UTM Skudai, manakala pembaca dalam adalah DR Ahmad Zamri Mansor. My heartfelt thanks to both readers and not forgotten PM Dr Hamidah for chairing the session. We conducted a mock viva just a few days before the actual viva. Since Marini is an experienced lecturer, she knows best what and why she does shat she did, so we didn't have any major issues to be addressed. She was given a minor correction (3 months) - which I think very much achievable since she has just retired from her work - so I urged her to make it full swing and submit the correction on time. For those who haven't finished your journey, do not worry! Your time will come. This journey is not an easy one but believe me, if you have courage, passion and determination, I can guarantee that you will finally reach the final destination!
