Many of us may have heard about 'content creation' activities .. but 'content curation' might be something alien. This year I was given a chance again to share something handy at Nano Workshop, in conjunction with K-Novasi 2018 (my heartfelt thanks to Pengajaran UKM!) and this time around I chose to talk about Feedly.
It is an online tool (it comes in mobile apps too) that all of us can gain benefits from. All this while, I myself was more familiar with Storify - another cool content curation tool. Unfortunately I recently learned that this application will no longer be accessible starting from May, 16 :(
I have came across Feedly few months ago and gave it a try. I was amazed upon knowing how easy and practical this tool is. It helps us to reorganize the websites and sources that we frequently refer to and keep them in one place. Users may choose any sources that they want to read later and put the 'read later' label and all the labelled sources will fall under 'Read Later' menu. What a great tool!
And yes, alternatively, users may integrate Feedly with Pocket, another smart app that can be used as a 'read later' site. I have Pocket on my smartphone too, so whenever I am on the go and have much time, I will go to Pocket and start reading the sources that I wanted to. So why don't you give it a try?
Happy curating guys! ^___^
Bismillah .. I shall start this very new year with a Nano Workshop in conjunction with K-Novasi 2018. This time around, I will be sharing tips and related theories and approaches on how to develop students' sense of agency through content curation activities.
See you there!
Alhamdulillah all praise to Allah The Almighty who gave us a time to gather and experience the process of developing Augmented Reality material! I am truly thankful for your attendance and resilience to be there until the end of the session. Congratulations! You can now claim yourself as AR developers! ^__^ Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any queries!
So please do not worry if you can't afford to subscribe a pro version! You can still create good ones!
Alhamdulillah I am so humbled and honoured to be given a chance to handle one of the nano workshops during UKM's 2017 K-Novasi Carnival. The topic was on Using Trello for Effective Supervision. I didn't expect a large crowd in that room though, but when I saw the seats were almost fully occupied, I gained more strength to share with the hope that my audience will find the benefits of using Trello - as much as I already did.
I started the session with displaying a video that I developed on hybrid supervision - the one that I prepared for Innovation Day at my faculty. Following that, I demonstrated how I used Trello to manage the supervision with my postgraduate students. The importance of having a sound understanding on the process in cultivating a community of practice was also touched.
The time given was limited, hence I couldn't have a time to show how the Trello mobile apps works. Anyway, I do hope that everybody enjoyed the sharing session and more importantly each of you will start using Trello in your daily practice. Don't miss the enjoyment and excitement! ^__^
How has Social Media impacted learning?
Hmm .. it is quite interesting to have a discourse on this topic, right?
But before that - let us check on our conception of learning .. and how do we define knowledge? And what do we mean by Social Media. Does it relate to merely Facebook, Twitter and Instagram?
Everybody has their own learning experience and different style of how they use Social Media. it is quite inspiring to hear a story from Mrs Fadzleen on how she 'survived' in teaching using radio alone when she was first posted to a school in Johor.
Yeahh booo : an audio-technique to measure level of responds was introduced by Brother Zaid Ali Al-Sagoff. A very interesting technique as well! Oh how I wish the magic stick is available now so that I can use it in my own classrooms!
Two sharing sessions by Prof Dr Supyan and Assoc. Prof. Dr Raihanah was really insightful! It was amazing to listen to their stories on how they use TG and WhatsApp as their media for interaction. Something to reflect on my own practice as well!
Alhamdulillah I was so contented with the input I gained from this seminar. It was a bless to have a chance to gather with big people in e-learning indeed!
My special thanks to Prof Dato' Dr Mohamed Amin Embi for inviting me to this awesome symposium. I felt so honoured to be part of the forum penalist. I also learned how to improve myself in giving public speaking and throw out ideas spontaneously.
Hope everybody enjoyed the moments and congratulations to all winnning groups! You did awesome!!!!
InsyaAllah tomorrow I will be with other panelists to share our thoughts on Social Media. Some interesting issues to be discussed including the impact of Social Meida on Gen Z and their learning, as well as pros and cons in the use of Social Media.
You are cordially invited to this special symposium. No admission fee.. just bring your heart and mind!
See you tomorrow! ^__^
Terima kasih pihak PPTP yang sudi menghasilkan sekali lagi video tentang bengkel Weebly yang dirakam seusai bengkel tersebut. InshaAllah kita lihat perkembangan laman web masing2 :)
