Taken place at Putra Business School UPM, the workshop was attended by officers from the Ministry of Information, Bangladesh. This time around, I was invited to conduct a workshop on Citizen Journalism - an interesting new topic! We had a good time exploring issues related to social media journalism, particularly on citizen journalism. I also learned a lot about citizen journalism in Bangladesh as well as other stories from policies, up to political matter. As we had so many topics to be covered, three day workshop was not enough. Nonetheless, I am grateful and feel proud to see their efforts to produce a short video by just using mobile apps (Animoto and FilmoraGo). Well, some people might underestimate the power of mobile version of video editor, but FilmoraGo and Animoto prove that the perception is totally wrong. For those who are always on the go, but love to share things on their social media, these easy apps would be suitable options. An example of a short video created using Animoto: As for graphic design, Canva will always be my first choice. Comes in web and mobile apps versions, Canva will never disappoint you! Only with few clicks, your graphic is ready to be shared as it allows you to download the output in jpeg and other formats. Speaking about ethics in citizen journalism, there are fews aspects that need to be considered. If you ever shared any news, information or views on your social media, you are considered as citizen journalists! So, as a journalist, there must be ethics that you should follow so as to create a harmonious and constructive sharing environment online. My heartfelt thanks to Putra Business School for this invitation. I do learn a lot myself from conducting this workshop, and also through sharing information with these great guys! Thanks everyone for your attention and determination to complete the training days. I do hope you enjoyed your training as well as your visits! Till then, thanks! Above: Never endiing story, heheheh!
