Time flies so fast that I didn't realized that I had so many things in the blog update list. But people say, it's better late than never, and I believe so :) Augmented Reality is no longer a new version of learning technology. Rather, most of us have at least heard about it somewhere. For this group of teacher-students (executive master class) , I gave them a challenge to design and develop an AR learning kits, based on any instructional design model that they chose. We had a good time listening and scanning the AR cards during the final presentation. They were unbelievably creative and awesome! Prior to AR-based learning kit presentation, there were also presentations on few topics. One of the groups brought a VR glass for others to try on. I was happy to learn that everybody seemed enthusiastic towards the sharing session. As for the AR-based learning kits - I received five kits that focused on various topics (students had a freedom to choose their own topic based on their areas/interest). We made a full use of face-to-face time that we had during the second meetings. Every group had to present their product, and acted like they were in a real competition. We moved form one station to another to listen and try out the AR materials. This presentation was not only to test the confident level of the students, but they were encouraged to give constructive feedback on how to improve the kits. Since there were rooms for improvement found, they decided to accept their existing product as a prototype. A final version (V.2) were then sent to my room no long from the presentation date. Congrats to all of you who made this activity a fun and exciting one! What is more interesting was the fact that - the development of these AR-based learning kits was done by following one ID Model (again students had a freedom to choose which model they wanted to use). I had a good time reading their written reflections on the whole process (each of them had to write a reflection not more than 4000 words at the end of the semester). Aha .. that's why I loveeee emic perspective research!! Will share the stories they wrote in the reflection seom other time. Phewww .. sorry that I took a loooooong time to write this post. See you in the next semester!! ^___^

Alhamdulillah. Thumma alhamdulillah. What else should we say? Yeay .. today the Web 2.0 (Screen-cast-o-matic) has been successfully conducted. Everybody was doing their job very well. No matter what role you play - it matters a lot, and you owe my highest appreciation. Jom KFC class! ahahaha!
Today's event was a success. It was! So .. Congratulation to everyone - your cooperation is very much appreciated! I am soooo proud of you .. !! I really hope that our participants were happy and contented too. And .. how do you feel? What kind of reflections can you make after this event? Being a facilitator is not simply demonstrating what steps should be taken .. but it involves more than that. I believe that you notice how different the participants were in terms of their learning pace .. right? The diversity can be a challenge too. Same goes with the timing as well as the condition where the training takes place. Now, from your overall observation - what are the things that need to be improved? Care to share your thought? Not only that, it also allows you to work collaboratively with peers. In a virtual world, using Web 2.0 learning materials to enhance or facilitate learning can be the best way for educators as it is not only save the time, but it enables the sharing to reach more people in the whole world. Preparing Web 2.0 learning material can be easy. You will just need to sit down and give it a try, or follow the YouTube tutorial available nowadays. But the tricky part is that, you also need to think about the pedagogical aspects as well. To what extent does your learning materials suit the needs and learning styles of your students? What about their age? What about their cultural stances? In designing materials - you need to be careful of these aspects. In today's session we will discuss on the aspect of the integration of technology and ICT. Activity 1Activity 2In group, answer the following questions:
Share your ideas with others. Activity 3Learning domains - CAP What is CAP? Discuss in class. Activitty 4Lets' have a a deeper look into what ADDIE model is and how does it relate to today's topic? The videos below explain each phase of ADDIE model: Pedagogy in e-LearningDiscuss this:
"effective learning arises from students engaging in thoughtful experimentation with knowledge. Understanding is developed via meaning making activities with peers and subject experts. We question the value of “transmission” modes of teaching, particularly those based on behaviourist approaches to teaching. We favour instead student-focused, constructivist approaches to the curriculum, which we would term research-based learning". |
